I'm fairly getting a bad run of luck just now.
After the exhaust/lambda MOT failure and the warped disc (my fault) the headlight today has dropped into the wheelarch (the bracket's corroded).
Ordered a new powdercoated one from Eliseparts. Get it Friday. But MOT is tomorrow. Duck tape effort I think.
Anyway, seeing as I'll be fumbling about in the wheelarch anyway, can anyone recommend any decent bulbs to put in? The current ones are poor (aren't all Elise bulbs?) but I'm sure they can be improved upon.
Any suggestions?

Replaced one of my headlights back end of last year and since I was grovelling around inside the wheel arches anyway I replaced my bulbs with the Osram +50; seem a little bit brighter but not a startling improvement. Probably something to do with the lights being at shin level. Check the auto express website, they ran a bulb group test recently and the Osram and Phillips +50 were evenly matched. There is the higher power option but not sure if you need to improve the looming or worry about melting your clam.
Probably aware that the easiest way to gain access is to turn steering to full lock in appropriate direction (right for right headlight and vice versa) and carefully peel back the wheelarch liner and tuck behind wheel, removing radiator shroud eases access from above if required. This is fine for short duration jobs, probably worth on stands-off wheel-out lner as a minimum for bracket replacement.
FWIW, the three rusty stubs holding my lights in looked nothing like the ELISEPARTS bracket when I looked at them.
