I have seen the norfolk line deal and that seems pretty sweet, but i could get on P&O dover-calais for 70 or 80 quid which is really good, but would like to go on one with loads of exotica, just for the atmosphere, so i would just like to know which ferry everyone is taking and how much it cost?

Me and Ben would be travelling on the thursday but thats as far as we have gotten, i had a quick search today and found a couple of good'uns, but as i said would prefer it with a bit of atmosphere

cheers

Rob

Hi Rob

A couple of us are using Speedferries this year (booked on the 10.45 crossing on Thursday morning). I used Norfolk line last year and whilst it's cheap and a good crossing, it took over two and a half hours to do the crossing, whereas Speedferries only takes 50mins. There's more driving to do on the French side too if you use the Norfolk line.

We've got the return crossings for two people and one car for £60 with Speedferries but we did book some time ago.

Hope this is of some help

Paul

If you are going on Thursday then you could join us lot on this one if they are still selling it, Speedferries usually work out one of the cheapest:

Are you driving down that morning (think I am right in saying you are a Midlander)? If so it is an 0700 ferry so maybe would be too bonkers an early start. I think most of the ferries that day will have some interesting stock, however I think the earlier seem more popular as people will want to be down their by not too late on Thursday in order to try to get a half decent camping spot (I changed from the 11 o'clock to this sailing for that very reason). You will want to get it booked asap though....

Edited to add: Oh Surveyor beat me to it with a Speedferries suggestion....keeping head down as was on that boat with him and jumped ship (what a bad gag)

I might actually be able to help with that, I have a spare booking on a SuperTicket which was £50 and is amendable for £10, they guarantee the original fare of £50 as long as there is space on the boat you are changing onto, I booked it for the weekend earlier before they announced the dates so that I had both weekends covered.

Assuming I am allowed to do a name change as well as date change for the £10 amendment it will end up as a £60 return fare, was going to use it later in the year but if you are interested in it let me know, I will need clear it with wifey however as she may now be set on France for the family hols.

3 of us all in tigers will be going, wed until monday. brittany ferrys from poole to cherbourg 12:30Pm leave. cost £205 return. our tigers only get about 100 miles to the tank. And going from, bristol, chedder and truro would cost shet loads as its about 320 miles from truro to dover.

in the end it will cost us lots more but it will save a lot in fuel ( we get between 15-28mpg), and save a few hundred miles on our journey

Sorry Rob, Vito'd by wife, she has already been browsing the French gites guides for summer hols and has a couple earmarked for booking. Shame really as I had a hankering for Italy this year and would have flown if going there.

Sorry chap, would like to have helped if I could.
