I FAILED.

Could not believe it.
2 minor errors (yes 2) and 1 "serious" which was neither serious nor my own fault.
Am furious , another lad my age had 14 errors and passed ! !! ! ! ! ! !
Apparently my examiner was :
_new at job
_jobsworth
_strict as arse
_a right **** aswell

also my instructor said that any other examiner would have passed me.

BLOODY HELL !!!!!!!

next test date is 31st of january ! thats 6 weeks away for f***'s sake.

**** him , i've got his name i'm gonna get somebody to glass him for me.

It's an arse mate but sh1t happens as they say. The fact that you only got two minors shows you are competent but you just got unlucky. See if you can beat two minors next time.

Unlucky there. I was one minor away from failing my UK test. The examiner asked me about my driving history after the test and asked me if I'd driven any high performance sports cars before. When I explained that I usually drive a very fast LHD sports car he let me go through. Told me that the way I handled the car(esp. dialing up revs at the lights, blipping the throttle and turning up in a Ferrari fleece)gave me away. Not the best idea for a test I know

Boy did I sweat through that test. Kept on hearing that bloody pen click and the sound on nib on paper throughout.

There are occasions in life when its really best to tone it down just a tad; interviews- up before the beak-
meeting prospective inlaws, that sort of thing.
best of luck next month though.

I was told by a few mates to turn up to my driving test in my full racing outfit, helmet, suit, boots etc etc but I thought that may jepordise (where's the spell checker??) my test result.

I hope I don't get a bent examiner when I take my test next year, there seem to be alot about at the moment from what I hear.

Good luck next time though mate!!!

I know you won't want to hear it, but I passed on my 5th. The history goes as follows:

1st: I fluffed the attempt. Mt fault. I just wasen't ready
2nd: I have the same examiner, and my nerves went.
3rd: The car I was learning on broke down (cluth went) so I borowed another car and tried my best
4th: The car (now fixed) was a 1961 Rover, without seat belts. They said that the test car HAD to have seat belts, and refused to take me out (This is wrong, incidentally)
5th : I passed.

As someone else said, Sh1t happens. Its just VERY annoying when it happenes to you...

Moral? Stick to bikes....

But hey, monty-p: chin up mate, worse things happen at sea!

Failed my first test on being hesitant, going 30mph in a 40 and not knowing the highway code, i.e what colour are the cats eyes on the exit from the motorway.

My examiner was a vicar who told me all about his church during the test.
He only went quiet when a stone flicked up and cracked the windscreen right in front of him!!

Appealed but didn't get anywhere though, Passed the second time though.

Past second time, one minor fault on the first test. OK, well put it this way, both the examiner and myself were thanking god for dual control! That will teach me to try and pass in High Wycombe. It did mean that then I finally took my test and I was requested to start, guessing this was the hill start, I almost asked where the hill was.

I passed first time and to this day believe the examiner was being very generous. I had minor faults in double figures and double faults on things like steering. STEERING!?

So do tell, what was the major fault?

I passed first time - no idea how many minor faults I got as I was nervous as hell and probably sweat out about 1/2 stone during the test, I must have stunk. It didn't help that the examiner was about 6'5" and had love and hate tattooed across his knuckles.

I was so nervous when i took my test that I was shaking too much to use the clutch properly - after about 5 minutes of of that I decided I'd failed and just got on with getting to the end. The Examiner than told me I had made a number of mistakes in the first few minutes but after that had driven wonderfully.

Passed first time.

Bad luck Monty, but keep your chin up. Ditch the glassing idea though, not really an appropriate response.
Took my tests 20 years ago:
failed first one : road positioning before turning right

failed second one 4.5 weeks later: same examiner, turned out he thought I was within the 30 day retest time period so failed me automatically. Appealed but was told I could only have a "free test" rather than an automatic pass cos the examiner had kept no notes of the test!

Passed third time, but really really should have failed! : Car broke down, It was a mini with a dodgy electric fuel pump under the rear arch. You had to thump it with a bloody great big wrench to get it going again! I had to get out and do this on the test.
Examiners face was a picture as we spluttered to a halt and I leapt from the car with a 2lb lump of metal in my hand hell bent on remedial action! Then bits started falling off - the trim along the body weld seam on the passenger side came off from the front wheelarch back, and was dragging on the ground. The examiner said " I think you better stop and do something with this" I couldn't reattach it so ripped it all off and threw it in the back seat - nearly taking the examiners eye out in my haste!
By now I was resigned to failure. So I just drove without thinking. When I accidently pulled out in front of a car at a T junction I was convinced that test number 4 would be needed.
Mumbled my answers to the highway code questions (couldn't be arsed anymore) and then he told me I had passed.
Couldn't find my license to give him, and then when I did I had forgotten to sign it. Oddly enough this was the only thing he actually bollocked me for!

Glad I don't have to do it again though.
Next time Monty, next time!

Don't despair, I know its a complete arse but you'll do it next time. I passed on my 3rd attempt.

Ist attempt was at 18, failed on making too many minor faults that are so long ago now, I can't remember, examiner I had is now known as Miss Strutt.

2nd attempt at 20 the examiner's nickname was Hitler, had a reputation of being a complete I also had a bloke in the back seat overseeing the examiner, not a happy bunny. (me not the bloke in the back) Failed on reverse round the corner, which was uphill and the blokes head kept getting in my way, The worst thing was my brother had his test 15 minutes after mine and he passed first time. The lucky git had an examiner who had only just passed his exams and my brother was his first test case.

Due to unforseen circumstances and university getting in the way so being totally broke, my third test was another 8 years in the making which was February this year. This test was so piss easy after the first two it was untrue, my driving instructor said he was the best examiner, he was really nice , friendly and chatty, my instructor came along for the ride in the back, for the first 10 minutes driving I only turned left, I was never asked to do an emergency stop, my turn in the road was in a very wide and quiet road, and I really thought I had Fd up my reverse round a corner again as i went over the white line in the middle, something my instructor said I would get failed on, but the guy was so cool, he just told me to carry on, and due to doing the theory test being separate now, no questions to answer at the end. The whole test took no longer than 35-40 minutes. I can't believe I actually passed. It makes up for the other two disastrous tests.

Bloody hell I've rambled on a bit , the moral of the story is don't worry, lots of people take a couple of attempts to pass, and you'll do it next time Good Luck for January

I passed mine first time, but then again I was lucky because I did my test in Lampeter (small Welsh town) and the local driving school only had two cars. I was in one, the other was out on a test - and my instructor made me follow it right round the test course on my pre-test lesson! And as I waited for three-point turns and reversing manoeuvres to be completed, he pointed out exactly what the examiner would be looking for and when. Handy that.

But you can do it! Look on the bright side, at least you're not going to be one of these people that passes after 34 attempts and is then let loose on the unsuspecting roads....

Good luck! You'll do brilliantly next time.
