Alarms and imobilisers
Discussion
I am not going to be able to incorporate the alarm/imobiliser from my donor so will have to fit an aftermarket one, preferably a cat 1 with tilt sensors. As I am also making up my own loom I would like to incorporate it into the new wiring rather than have an installer come along after its finished to start patching into it.
Any one got any views on which are best or which to avoid. Thinking of Clifford, Microscan or Toad as easily available or are there better ones I should be considering.

With mine I entered into a work-share agreement with the supplier, I fitted it and he tested/wrote certificate.
Find a local installer and go talk to him/her. If convinced that you know what you want in the loom and you are competent to do it properly then you should have no problem going the same route I did.
In the end he may have just written the certificate when I told him it was all working but he seemed rather keen to come look at the car.

Striling/Excel is the same as toad b.t.w & seems to be cheaper but with the same thatcham rating - i think they share a parent company or something boring like that - my stirling excel is exactly the same as a toad power key (ideal for starter button installs) but quite a bit cheaper!
