Local Traders v Hypermarkets
Discussion
Depends what your buying really. I find a lot more satisfaction in popping into the quiet local shop where I can pick up everyhing I need in a few minutes with no more then one or two people waiting to pay then the supermarket with flourscent lights, screaming babys and long queues.
Price wise there isn't near as much in it as the supermarkets would have you believe and I find that any extra cost is offset by the fact I leave without bags of shite I wouldn't have bought if it wasn't on 2 for 1.

You were in a snooker hall?
Bugger. You know I spent the best part of 30 seconds trying to work out how to spell it. I still can't work it out
In my defense I am absolutely exhausted.

90% of mine at the local shops and market.
much cheaper, plus meat from the butcher.... like mice - can see whats going in, as he cuts the slices infront of you, and then into the mincer a couple of times for the perfect texture... cant be squemish tho... Harry will soon get a carcass out the store for the right cut... like when i asked for some lamb cutlets, out came the whole thing, onto a pair of spikes and cleaved in too in the front window, while he told me it life story of its time on his small holding.
same with fruit n veg off the market...
shopping local... least you get a friendly face who remembers you, and knows you'll be back if your a bit short on money for what you got... conversation too... makes the job plesant, rahter than slogging round the supermarket dodging bloody wimmin n kids... and the blue rise brigde.

i like rappor and u aint getting that down the hypermarket
for example my local diy shop (Bob) (and his son) just went out of their way to get me some particular saw blades for no profit. a couple of months ago my local electrical guy rang me up and asked if I still wanted a big tv for a good price. you save in aggro and insolence if u shop locally, regularly and actually talk to the shopkeeper like a person and i think you will profit by it.
