S2 OZ Wheel Replacement Option
Discussion
I have been on the lookout for some of the Lotus Motorsport OZ wheels for my S2 111S to take A048 rubber but am unwilling to pay the mad new or second hand premiums. Researching alternatives; Compomotive MO Motorsport and Rimstock 1.2 have been mentioned but are not perfect offset matches and I don’t want to compromise handling or use spacers.
I have been in contact with Speedline about their Turini 2120 wheels which they have been planning to make in S2 K series 4*100 PCD and offsets 7x16 ET 31.x at 8.5Kg and 8x17 ET18 at 9Kg with an RRP of around £825 inc vat for the rims only. These will happily take the usual A048s sizes of 195/50R16 and 225/45R17 and there is consideration for the Toyota market with ET38 rears as well.
Speedline tell me that this project is going ahead, and the better they understand demand the sooner product will be available. Whilst the channel and specific pricing is yet to be confirmed, I am keen to get my hands on these rims so have offered to profile demand.
If this is of interest to you, would you let me know either public post or via profile email (no commitment) if its S2 K series or Toyota in Black, Silver or other and if you want to consume asap, spring, summer, later. Cheers HB
PS If you'r sitting on a stash of OZ rims, nows the chance to bail before market economies take effect

Its looking like this is infact a marekt size of 1 (me) so one last sniff before I give speedline the bad news about the lack of demand.
If unspung weight is a consideration it looks like OZ/Speedline total weight difference would be closer, with a set of OZ wheels weighing 32Kg and Speedline 35Kg.

Thanks Jake, its not just drect demand its also why you would be interested, which category of buyer would you see yoruself as;
1. Road use damage replacement - dont want to pay Lotus prices.
2. Road use cosmetic change - just want something different.
3. Road use - want wider fronts to cure preceived understeer and/or
sticker rubber (A039/48/R888) for limit handling.
4. Light Track Use - want wider fronts for turn-in and and sticky rubber (A039/48/R888) for limit handling, unsprung weight is not a big issue but price is (dont want to pay Lotus prices).
5. Hard Track use - want wider fronts for turn-in and and sticky rubber(A039/48/R888) for limit handling but unsprung weight is a major issue (at what price point does the extr 3Kg not hurt ?).
