Hi Guys

After all you help and advise - have gone and got myself a little old Elise - I'm soooooooooo excited and I have to wait for 2 weeks until I can collect!!.

Anyway she (is that allowed) is a 2002 Lotus Elise Type 25 - no 40 of 50 - I think!!

We test drove a couple - wow - the S1 is lovely, noisy, rattly and fast and most like my old MG - the S2 was something else - quicker gear change, a real roar and slightly more refined on the road - I think thats what I mean anyway - but the power was tangible and felt more instant than the S1 - don't get me wrong though if I had'nt have test drove the S2 would have had an S1 with no quibble - but the little green beasty with the yellow stripes just tugged at the heart and purse - so now all I have to do is wait - arrgghhhhh

Thanks so much again - will hopefully be able to join some of you on the road runs :-)

Jeanxx

That's Bell & Colvill isn't it? Did you deal with Scott? He's a top bloke and true enthusiast. Car looks great, you'll love it.

Very nice - interesting that you found the S2 faster. Is it a 111S? Great special ed that one - initially I disliked them, but they REALLY grow on you.

Looks like a 120BHP from the pic (single element diffuser, non-train spotters ). I think the speed comment was related to the response, probably down to the revised ECU. Although I could be wrong - does the car have a modified induction or exhaust, tailpipes give the impression of the latter?

Good nerding Kev I guess the impression of more speed may also be due to the fact that if it is a std S2 then it'll have the CR 'box of the S1 111S/Sport 135, rather than the longer ratios of the std S1 'box.

Impression? The CR box WILL actually make it accellerate quicker.

Hi All

Many thanks for all your words of encouragement – I just can’t wait to get her.

Okay to answer some of your queries and questions ….

Yes I am a Mrs – hubby wasn’t keen on getting a Lotus – he’s more a Landrover man – however he did test drive them with me and as hard as he tried he just couldn’t help himself – he smiled!!!! – and was a bit cheeky at a set of traffic lights with her – so he is now also hooked – however for that reason I have decided the cars a she as only true female charm could have managed that – and lets face it until that point I had also failed!!

She has had a stainless steel exhaust fitted – one of Bell and Corvill’s own and has had red leather placed around the speakers, dash tray and side pockets added – other than that she is in her original state – no engine changes or special filters etc.

Yes we did buy from B&C – well spotted - Scott was delightful and extremely helpful – his passion for Lotus shone through everything he said, did and noticed –even telling us what was needed on the car before we should buy her

With regard my comments around her feeling faster – the gear change felt much closer and pick up upon changing gear seemed much quicker – we seemed to get going quicker – if that makes sense – sorry not sure of the technical terms yet.

Lots of sleepless nights ahead for sure – 2 weeks seems an eternity – although I guess I now better bite the built and find some insurance – gulp

Speak soon

Jxx

Cool,

welcome to the madhouse, no more quick trips to the shops now, you will always be thinking of the 'long way home'.

OH, and looking out for other peoples reactions at traffic lights, or is that just me being Vain?

ENJOY

Looks very nice, I originally owned an S1 and upon test driving the S2 I too found it a much improved and responsive drive. This however I think is dwn to the gearbox and and the revised ECU. Overall though, great car!
