Battery not charging

Morning All!

Had my battery out over the weekend...and had the acumate trickling it since then - but still no green light (the amber one is still showing).

Do we think the battery is caput?

If so - technical specs for the Battery?

a type 072 (is this the size) and is that an Industry standard...or just manufacturer nomenclature?

Halfwits! Have no idea..."computer says nooooo" is what I got..."you car don't appear mate".

Basically, just take the battery on down to them and let them mathc it by the size... also check at nationanl tyre centre they dont try and send you away with one with terminals on the opposite ends.

i got mine from halfwits, took 5 mins, like for like swap- left my old one there and bobs your uncle.

Seconded - take your old battery with you - apparently there are differing shapes and sizes, and only one shape fits!

i bought an EXIDE battery, it's a little squeeze but pumps out more cranking amps. ATS tyres and exhausts etc, got it for me in Twickenham.

I fitted an 072 from halfwits over the weekend. Was same size as battery I took out.
A nightmare job though BUT reckon I could do it in 30 mins or less next time!

thanks all...just spoken to a guy at Accumate...he tells me it can take up to a week to recharge a battery...so I may just wait and see if that Green LED appears!

Otherwise - I have TVR London who can get me a 072 for £56...

£56 is a great price.
Halfwits = £72
Racing Green = £72 plus vat.

If you have the 'raised nut' then refitting the 072 is a challenge. If you need advice send me a mail!

Cheers Gaz, should be ok though - got it out ok...air filters and induction pipes pushed up...

Hopefully just replace it backwards and all will be good...

Get an Optima Yellow Top. It'll cost about £150, but you will never have any power issues again. Fits perfectly. If they are good enough for powerboats, they are good enough for me! 700 cca baby

I believe it is the YT-S4.2. I know the power rating of cca, and the dimensions are about right. They are actually quite a bit smaller than wet cell batteries, so you may need to chock the battery with a bit of wood to keep it snug, but starts like a dream.

If you go to any sort of car audio or watersports (ooer missus) shop and offer cash you should be able to pick one up for £150.
