Dismay at rail 'cutback' plans
Train operators' subsidies could be cut by 20%
Train services will be cut under government plans to cut rail firms' funding by a fifth, passenger groups and opposition MPs have warned.
The government's transport policies were branded a "total shambles" after reports that ministers want to reduce subsidies to train operators by 20%.

So they dont like us using our cars and it now seems that they dont want the train to take the strain. (not that i like the train but....)

First it was war on the motorist and now its looks like war on all transport and the electorate. A suicide government anyone? Suits me - as soon as we can get New Labour to be old past-tense Labour the happier I will become.

How about a new campaign; PISTONHEADS FOR PARLIAMENT ?

Even Labour MPs are criticising New Labour's transport policy at the moment!

I heard it on the news this morning. Totally unbelievable! They say they want to tax the motorist out of their car and onto public transport, but this reveals that only the first part of the statement is true (the bit about taxing the motorist!).
