Hello,
I am very interested in getting an Ultima GTR this year. Before I spend hours on the internet trying to get quotes for insuring an Ultima, I just wondered if anybody has any recommendations. I have tried Tescos with no joy! Also if you don't mind could you give an indication as to how much you are currently paying?

Thanks for that! I have sent off a application and am now waiting the dreaded figure! Being 25 might be a problem as always. I worked out that if I had saved all the money I have spent on Car insurance since passing at 17 I could buy a new Mazda MX5 and have change! Why didn't my dad get me interested in Property instead of Cars and Bikes?!
Being under 30 is going to make it tough getting a quote from anyone. Footman James gave me a reasonable quote when I was 28...luckily by the time I was done with the build it was a year further on from my original plan and it was a lot cheaper. I couldn't find anyone else who would even consider providing a quote. Probably with good reason.

The MSN people were very speedy in their reply. Unfortunatley they will not look at insuring me until I reach the grand old age of 30. It is not looking good! For many years I have used a trade policy that covers me on any car and any bike that I may own. I have had to stop this as they seemed keen to see some evidence of my trading after 5 years, and whilst I do like to swop motors fairly often I was deemed to be taking the piss! The other issue was the spread of these ANPR cameras. I kept getting stopped because the cars were not on the database!
I am not giving up yet!

I was 28 when MSM first covered me. Price doesn't seem to have gone down now that I am past 30. Maybe this new rule is due to the "tuckshop" effect?

Not from November 2005 they don't... just rang them as build finally approaching (don't laugh
) for build up cover and it's no more.
