I'm off on holiday at the weekend for a week - sunny Tenerife (I hope!)

Anyway, we've got four kids and their passports last for just 5 years (as opposed to 10 years like adults' passports).

With some countries it's stated that the passports must have at least 6 months before they expire. I've just checked the dates of all my family's passports and my youngest daughter's passport is due to expire in a couple of months.

As such, does anyone know whether Tenerife (Spain, I suppose) has any rules about passport expiry dates?

my brother flew to lanzarote on an expired passport a couple of years ago, well actually it expired while he was there and unfortunately they let him back in.

Does it matter if the country in question is in the EU? My passport expired 2 days after returning from Germany once. It was commented on at Passport Control in Germany, but they couldn't stop me travelling.
