The best way to get there from Basingstoke would be............?

The g/f has said we'll need to get a train to Waterloo, then on a tube & then a bus? That's gonna be a bit too much for me to cope with this evening, the state I'll be in before/after The Darkness gig! There must be an easier way surely?

Oops....meant to post this in P&P...if someone could oblige please....

You'll need to get two tubes from Waterloo to get to Finsbury Park, then get a W3 bus which will take you past the front door. The buses are easy to find at Finsbury Park station and it'll cost you £1.50 each way unless you have some sort of travelcard.

Blimey when did they divert the Northern line, the MuswellHillBillys have allways been excluded from tube travel.

The nearest Northern Line station would be Highgate and that would be a little like calling Prestwik Airport, Glasgow, you wouldn't want to walk it in the rain

Nice healthy walk from Highgate all the way down the hill and then all the way back up again to Ally Pally? That would be fun, not (would also take you best part of half an hour each way). Or you could walk around and through Muswell Hill, but that would take longer.

There's probably a bus from Highgate, but the W3 goes past my front door, so its the one I know about.

Its easy to get there from Muswell Hill, its just not so easy to get to Muswell Hill from Waterloo, because there isn't any tube in MH. Its about a 5 minute walk to Ally Pally though.

Overland from Kings Cross or Highbury and Islington or Finsbury Park (I think)

Overland to Alexandra Palace, outside normal working days/hours, goes Kings Cross, Finsbury Park, Harringey, Hornsey, Alexandra Palace.

The W3 from Finsbury park will take you right to the front of the building though if you don't fancy the walk up the hill.
