Im thinking of buying a Tuscan.
Have seen a few advertised, but some having factory engine re-builds with a s little as 15k on the clock! Is this normal for such a young car?

I know one must get used to the minor gripes & niggles that some of these babies have, but could someone maybe list the major gripes that a Tuscan encounters,or prehaps things to look for prior to purchase?

Thanks

Oh boy are you about to open a can of worms! The speed six reliability issue still rages on with some people having had problems very early in a cars life and others not having had problems at all (obviously some people get very vocal about it!). If you look through the old threads you will find al sortson that thorny issue. Personally I own a Tuscan S and in the last year and 6000 miles the only thing I have had fail is a speed sensor to the outer dial of the dashboard (£70). Keep reading the forums and see what you think and remember that servicing will not be cheap. However, when you get one (you will....you just wont be able to stop yourself!) nothing will put a grin on your face bigger than a Tuscan (trust me I've owned a Chimaera, Cerbera, 400SE etc etc and the Tuscan is by far my favourite!)

Best of luck!

Had my Tuscan MkII for 8 months and it has not been too bad...

Leaking engine coolant
Pod display replacement (see other posts)
Squeeking rear window
Handbrake light comes on due to design of housing. Doesn't appear to be any permanent fix for this.

Was it worth buying the car - definitely. Much better drive than my previous Chimaera, and a better overall build. I guess the general thing applies as with all TVR's - if you get a bad one then you are in trouble, get a good one and it's a great experience.
