Hi, Guys,

My Chim is still under waranty for electrical bits, so i can get Fernies to sort this, but out of curiosity....

When i have the wipers set to intermittant, or use the washers, they do not re-seat at the bottom of the windscreen.

Now, this is not due to wind resistance, as it is the same at a standstill, and i don't mean just off the bottom, i mean anywhere from vertical, to right in my sight line. Bummer.

Any ideas?

Common niggle due to the wiper motor being exposed to water ingress. See this recent thread for details:www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=240841&f=13&h=0

Easy (well, the spring clip can be a bu88er) and cheap to fix- just coat the new switch with grease before fitting

Also not that quick if you end up, like me, shearing the stud off that holds the motor in place......took another few hours grovelling in the passenger foot well to replace the stud with a bolt glued in from the underside (that happens to be just where the heater is situated!). I did fix the park switch though - took it apart, cleaned the contacts up and filled it with grease to stop it corroding again.

Toby.

Oppened the bonnet, wiggled the plug a bit (clean and dry) and everything just dandy - thanks, good people.

Cheers.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I wanted this info to appear in the search...

I've documented the wiper switch replacement on TVR Chimaera Pages.
