The old gem: "How long before I call her"

I spent Saturday night at a friends of the family Christmas party.
I arrived ready to spend the evening being pawed by menopausal housewives, and bored by drunk middle aged lawyers when across the room I see a stunning blonde girl. She is staring vacantly into space making no pretence to be listening to the short letcherous bald man who is talking to her.
I spot my chance to play the knight in shining armour, walk over, take her by the arm and claim that she is needed in the kitchen.
To cut the story short we spend all evening talking, and she is fantasic, an irreverant sense of humour, beautiful face, stunning figure and can drink like a sailor!
At the end of the night she gave me her number, and I said I would call her when I was back in Surrey, where she lives and where I will be for Christmas.
Now, I normally use a 3 day minimum before calling, but cannot get her out of my head. Advise please before I send her an inane text message that I will regret as soon as it I do it!!

Text her tomorrow afternoon saying you've been busy but you've been wanting to phone her... call before you think it's her lunch time. She will then spend the morning waiting for your call 
Doh - I thought you saw her last night. Do what I was suggesting today!

(Does everyone get asked this or is it just me???)
Anyway, by the time I got home there was a text from her. We spent the next 10 mins texting each other (very difficult if your drunk) and in the morning, when I awoke there was another text from her which started
"Morning sexy..."
We are seeing each other tonight...

I'm a bit of an old romantic myself: I'd have been trying to find her address and shipping some of Interflora's finest right over. Seems she's saved you the bother...
My GF lives 160 miles away; we see each other on roughly alternate weekends or whenever I'm passing Leicester on a callout. On Saturday it was exactly a year since we first spoke on the phone (after some serious texting) - it was midnight in Saudi where I was and the company mobile bill cost me my expenses for the whole trip but it was worth it!
