My son has a Westfield that needs a bit of work prior to getting back on the road for springtime. The windshield uprights need replacing and the doors fitted. Neither he or I have time to do anything on it due to work commitments at the moment. Is their anyone in the Berkshire area that would do this kind of work?

I know a garage in Windsor who might be able to help. They service my SEi, but I fitted my own doors.

Where abouts are you based?

This should be within the scope of pretty much anyone you trust to be honest.

To replace the uprights you just support the screen, unscrew the two small grub screws each side that hold the uprights to the screen and unbolt them from the scuttle. Then just fit your new uprights. You'll be able to pick up some 2nd hand uprights from the wscc site or frome bay or, if you're flush, from westfield.

The doors have two pins rivetted to them and just slot into two matching holes in the windscreen uprights. There will be a strap on the inside with one half of a popper attached and you just attach the other inside the car if it isn't already there.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't do the whole lot within an hour between two of you.

Sorry, can't recommend a specific garage to do the work.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks guys. The car is in Bracknell so the garage in Windsor sounds like a reasonable option. Problem at the moment is both my son and I are working flat out and getting a couple of hours together is not practical at the moment. If you can let me have the contact details and one of us will give them a call and get it organised.

Agreed, I built a Westfield Sei several years ago, and that was one of the easier jobs.......

Should take ten mins to take the windscreen pillars off.I can get them blasted and re-powder coated.Just support the windscreen in position with masking tape across the dash and onto the scuttle panel, then as Den says, undo the 4 grub screws and the 4 bolts to scuttle panel and remove. If you can get them to Reading,I can get them re done.Probably cost about £30 for blasting and powdercoating.
