druck stuck

my 3.2 has developed a permanent state of max oil pressure. the other oil level needle keeps moving around as normal . car fine. just a gauge problem probably but anyone think this could mean anything else?

I seem to recall that the Carrera guages fail to max when they lose the earth connection. Hope that's all it is.
