Can anyone recomend a good but reasonably priced set of PC speakers? At the moment I have a five year old Soundblaster card.

Want something that sounds good but doesn't break the bank.

Cheers

I have the Creative Inspire 6.1 speakers, I don't think they cost an awful lot now, and the sounf is very good, be it films, gaming, music, so much so, in fact, that our PC is now our 'sound system' since putting my CD collection onto the hard drive.

I've got these Creative 5.1 speakers. They are ace, especially with the sub turned up.

You will need a 5.1 compatible soundcard though (about a tenner off eBay).

I'd go for Nelson Madella followed by Heather Mills-McCartney.

That way you cover all PC bases. Black, socialist, disbaled, vegetarian and woman.

I remember reading very good reviews of the lansing speakers. My Hi-Fi is now in the loft! There isn't really much call for a 12 disc tray when you can line up your whole music collection to play in Media Player....

If fidelity is the main consideration and both stereo and PC are fairly close to each other then I would, rather than spend out on speakers, get an Audiophile 2496 Soundcard and hook it up to your stereo via a phono/rca cable.

2496 is around a ton.

These are the ultimate compact monitors. Unfortunately they have risen to 4500 since this review...

my brother has those ones for his mac. i dont know how they cope with being taken up high, but they give a fairly decent sound quality at normal volume and they are very cool

Kin 'ellfire.

That would buy you a good AV amp and a very nice sounding (see professional and certifiable) set of THX 7.1 speakers...

I have a pair of Wharfedale Active Diamond 7.1s for my PC, with which I am perfectly happy. Shop round for a good price - I got mine from Richer Sounds.
