Installed it today, when I try to load it the screen goes blue and I get the error message 'Bad Pool Header'.

Its intermittent as I loaded it again and it worked, had a quick razz in a Mini, then closed it and tried to load it again a bit later and it crashed my comp again!!

Anyone else had this problem?

I changed the shader configuration from auto to direct x 9, no joy, then direct x 8 and got intermittent joy!!

Bloody stupid game, GTR never caused me any probs.

Anyway I have lots of work to do for my MA so maybe its a good omen really.

Check the link above out. Plus what graphics card do you have and how much RAM does it have, check your directx install too. Start/Run/dxdiag to check for problems (do you have the latest DX?)

My guess is you've installed XP Service Pack 2 and it's screwed something up and you need to reinstall the latest driver for something.

I had a similar problem. Had to download an update for the starforce protection system; there's a link on the GTL website: "starforce fix".

Thanks guys.

FWD its only a prob with GTL, everything else on my comp seems to work fine. I'm running a NVIDIA Geforce 6800 LE, 128mb.

I shall download and install the Starforce drivers as mentioned by .flyer and see how that goes later.

Will update you all if i'm successful later.

Cheers all.

What he said - I had the exact same problem.

Commentary about a "copy protection" system which causes a total operating system crash is optional.
