Ok,
First proper post - classic DILEMMA (thank you). I had planned to take the good lady away to Cork for a weekend in February, been booked for a while now, however, my mate has just announced that he's booked us both tickets for the cup final on the 26th! How do I broach this...I can go to Ireland anytime as it's my parents place and it's usually always free - but, how many finals will I get to see this year!!

answers please.......

Basically I want to go to the final but how do I let my ladyfriend down gently!

book her in to a spa for a relaxing weekend, making excuses that you are too manly to go... go to the final and see her after she has finished. Jobs a gud un, next...

Ooh! It is a no-win situation I fear, unless your good lady is very understanding and appreciates the fabulous opportunity that this pair of tickets presents. Tell her what has happened and, you never know, she may say, "Not to worry! We can swap weeks." She may, however, say, "You selfish ! At least now I know where I stand." Bon chance!

Edited because the grammar and spelling police are around

I take it your parents don't live in the house?

Can't she go away with some girlfriends for the weekend? She'd have a scream

There's nothing like a pre-emptive strike.

Flowers and a bit of bling should do the trick! And a great old kiss and cuddle.

There you see.....not so difficult after all?!

i think the phase - "revenge is a dish best served cold" is most apt...

just you wait,

she'll get her own back.. yoou'll see...

tho seeing as she's feeling generous... enquire about a trip up a certain tower
