I've been looking for alternative wheels and tyres today and the chap I spoke to reckoned he could still get Toyo t1-s with the W rating.
He was at South West tyres at Clevedon(Somerset )and their website is

Thanks for the reply, I tried them and they have nothing in the Toyo or the Bridgestone. I have spent an hour this afternoon and found nobody. I will keep looking and let you know. But if anybody else has any ideas I am getting desperate. I am going to have to put pirellis on at this rate as the current tyres are past there best!

www.tvrparts.net might have some part worn SO3's in your size.Or p/x in the 15's and get some 16's for the front.

, but just thought I'd try to help out.
Just got some 205/55/15 Dunlop SP Sport 9000s last week for the front of my Chim (99, 500 no PAS).
I checked out the search facility here, and went looking high and low for different brands of different ratings, but found there's not much choice out there unless you get lucky or go for a V rating. I found you can still get the odd Z rated SO3 or F1 but it's normally just the 1 here or there, so I ended up going for the above as they're the only ones still in current production with the Z rating and fairly easy to get.
I got mine through Formula 1st in W.S.M at £142.00 for the 2 all in, which I didn't think was to bad. As a comparison, Black circles came in at about £158 fitted, or £145 delivered.
As for handling, it's hard to say at the mo as their still running in and it's not the best of weather to give it some. But compared to my old near slick SO3s that were on, there fairly grippy.

No Toyo's or GSD's in that size. Dunlop SP9000 are the only real option and they are in short supply too - I had to wait more than 2 weeks. W rated 15" tyres are almost gone. The trend is for bigger wheels nowadays.

Interesting to see on some forums, that people's handbooks differ on fitted tyre sizes. Bluey is a 94 500 and the manual recommends 205/55 on 15 fronts, 235/50 on 16 rears. Car currently has correct front but 245/45 rear, all SO2.
Now my search on BlackCircles only indicated SP9000s for the front & Toyos for the rear.
Should I stick with the manual recommended tyres, for all round drive comfort, for my particular car, as per the handbook issued with it, as distinct from other peoples?
Would it matter if I use different makes front and rear? Anyone know the pros & cons of each, the Toyo & the Pirelli?
What about insurance issues if I use other than my particlular handbook's recommended sizes?

I think power steering cars should have 225 fronts and no power steering should have 205’s, early 500’s were fitted with 235’s on the rear and later cars have 245’s, my handbook states 235’s but the car is fitted with 245’s, then again it’s also fitted with 225 fronts even though it has no powered steering.
My car is an Aug '94 car and has 235/50ZR16 on the rear, the date code on the tyre indicates they are the original factory fitted tyres (and as such are overdue for replacement even though they are only half worn, seems my car must have led a sheltered life before me).
I spoke to my insurer about using 245/45's on the rear and they said so long as they were a factory fitted size at some stage in the production life of the car they would be OK. Suggest anyone else checks with their own insurer, but I cant see why it would be a problem to change sizes.
