GT3 buyers guide

Price levels are difficult to predict and at times, hard to justify. But the hardcore models will probably support each other.

964RSs are around the £30k mark, can't see GT3s falling below that. 993RSs and GT3 mk1s can be had at more or less the same prices now. Except RHD 993RSs which seem to have gone crazy - some at GT3RS levels!

re. 993 rs rhd cars....yes, ive noticed that...How rare are they? Ive been in a couple on track days, and while they were awesome, they were no more awesome than a 964 srs or a gt3..Very pretty though.

The 993 RS won't be any quicker than most 964 RSs on track I'd say.....usually depends on the driver. I have overtaken 964 RSs, but then they have overtaken me as well.

I think there were 70-80 RHD 993 RSs brought into the UK, and a similar number of RHD cars supplied to the other parts of the world who also drive on the left side of the road, e.g. S. Africa, New Zealand, Singapore etc. I believe around 1070 993 RSs were made overall, but they made 3 times as many 964 RSs which partially explains why they are now cheaper. These figures are just off the top of my head, sorry if they are wrong.

Johnny...close...but...just to provide some good order to the stats..... There were 41 rhd 993 UK cars and 7 Uk rhd clubsport versions, as you say ROW there were certainly a few more rhd produced.

I have had the 964RS production numbers drummed into me but will wait for Melv & Des to come along and post those.

If a 964RS is going past your 993RS on track it probably makes sense to get it thoroughly checked over,,maybe you are only running on 4 cylinders? Of course exceptions are made for 964 cup cars especially when running on slicks!

Would be interesting to know how many 964 and 993 are still circulating. Does anyone have a guestimate??

Buy cheap GT3 with huge mileage and shagged suspension fom tracking.

Stick full manthey M440 conversion onto it + Euro 30k.

Motoring heaven.

GT3'a at £35k in memorable history ? No way.
