on my journey home tonight, I overtook a cyclist - even gave him a wide berth, then pulled in beyond him.
got around a corner and stopped up some lights. saw him approach up the inside, watched as he raised up in his saddle, and punched my passenger mirror, smashing the glass, then took off through a one way street (I was stuck at lights). piece of scum I sincerely hope that something nasty befalls him in the very near future.

Just felt I had to drop a note to the list as Im seething and really want to kick something.

p.s. dropped by halfords, £6.49, half an hour to remove old mirror, job done.

aaaargh!

Don't mean to be rude or question you, but are you sure you didn't nearly knock the two wheeled peasant over ? They don't normally tend to do nasty things without you having nearly killed them first.

what I thought ..... I've been knocked off my bike and injured before by motorists turning left across me , and *nearly* knocked off several times by blind/ignorant car drivers.

absolutely positive. In fact I made a special point of pulling fairly well over to the outer lane as I passed him, then pulled in a fair distance ahead of him. I know it can be intimidating when a vehicle passes a cyclist so always make allowances.

Why are there cycling boxes at the front of the queue at the lights- even on the d/c's?

So they can get into position to turn right without having to get between nose to tail moving traffic.

He did more than that, there was a massive thread recently about the 155mph fella on the IOW.

This is what got the thread deleted:

P**l Sm*th, Full-time road safety campaigner" - or is it "unemployed
speedophile?"

better get back to the day job.

Oh yeah.

he hasn't got one!

People like Plonker Smith and his toady acolytes on here are dangerously stupid, more so that the average stupid person because they seek to justify their stupidity with a thin patina of scientific respectability which sadly bemuses and befuddles other stupid people. Eventually, recieved stupidity
becomes mainstream and so we all become, on average, more stupid as
a result.

Frankly, someone ought to take him aside and explain quite how
stupid he is, and by means of an example of abject stupidity, they
ought to kick his effing teeth so far down his intestinal tract
that he has to stick his toothbrush up his bum to clean them.
Now, I know that's a stupid thing to do, and I wouldn't for one
minute suggest to anyone that they actually do it, because that'd
be really stupid (although, cleverly, not as stupid as PS), but
there are a lot of stupid people out there, and who knows, one of
them might just be stupid enough to do it!

Let's not create any more cyclist vs motorist animosity eh?

I've been known to venture out on a bike from time to time and I've been knocked off by a stupid woman in car before now. Doesn't make me anti-car.

Let's keep things sensible please.

The sad thing is that I've never bashed cycling, and indeed I've gone on the attack over a few people here who have.

Its the afore-mentioned idiot and people like him (thankfully there aren't many) who tend to polarise the debate.

A bit more history can be gleaned on this thread:

Did you give him enough space between you and the curb at the lights?

Could be another possibility for his rage
