Just had porsche immobiliser removed by professional, as constantly playing up. Now can't seem to get spark to start engine. Any suggestions. Thanks

oh dear. one cannot but help wonder if your professional has forgotten to plug something back in...
no specific suggestions from me I'm afraid, other than the obvious comment that the ignition system on the 944 has very high voltages and should not be tampered with unless you know exactly what you are doing.
1) ring your professional
if no joy
2) ring AA
3) remove car to favourite Indie

personally, id get it re-connected by the bloke that removed it, then get him to do it again. you could have ripped it out and ed up the car on your own, and for free.

Your going to have to go back to the guy who removed the system and get him to check over his work. There is some info on a web site www.clarks-garage.com where you can find a diagram of the alarm/immobiliser system and how to temporary by-pass it to prove if the immobiliser is at fault.
Let us know how you get on as I am thinking of removing my system.

IF q> 1 was yes, then I'd suspect a loose cable/joint as to somthing not being plugged in. I cant see him giving your car back not working ! CAT1's are supposed to be installed in such a way to hinder theft, so tracing stuff yourslef can be difficult.

What kind of starting are you getting, any noise, clicks, etc.
What does the dash show or go ?

The Porsche immboy, which is by a company called Hamilton Parker, are very good, they can act up but usuall cause of failure is overheating of the control unit which is located somwhere hot, under carpet (NO I@M NOT SAYING ON A PUBLIC FORUM) which happend to mine, but removing the carpet, sorted my problem out.

I would get the guy back pronto...

Thanks for all the replies - have now passed it on & now in the safe hands of a local porsche expert /enthusiast.He has discovered that there still remains some immobiliser circuit wiring which had not been disconnected?
Just waiting now to see if this is the cause.

The immobiliser itself was under the carpet under passenger seat.This area had also got slightly damp which was the cause of the immobiliser working intermitently - I had it removed as On three occasions I was stranded miles from home as the immobiliser failed & it would not allow the car to start. Cannot believe the amount of wiring involved in fitting the immobiliser. Glad its gone - at least I can now drive my car straight away without getting towed home!!!!!!
