I've done a trawl through the archives, but cannot find this problem, so am looking for some help.

The temp gauge does not move on my Chim so I have no idea whether I'm running hot or cold. It has over the past couple of weeks started to read a little lower than 70 which I put down to the weather, but do I need a new otter switch? If I do, I searched the archives and I think it is part BHA5252, but where can I get one close to Berkshire, and does anyone have a phone number of someone who can do next day delivery

Also happy to understand if I have mis-diagnosed this one

Many Thanks

Just something of note, I have just changed my otter switch and thermostat for the Leven cool running ones, now my temp guage never really goes over 75 tops - when it often used to get to 85-90 even in this cold weather. It is possible that there is nothing wrong and the guage is fine! You could try one of those infra-red thermometer thingys as a test once the car has warmed up.

Start the car when its cold with the cap of the swirl tank...if you have got water flowing through then your thermostat could be shot!!!
My temp guage never moved in the cold weather but now, with a new stat, it sits at 80 all the time...unless i hit traffic
