Sorry.

Bubbles of air stuck in a frozen lake in Cumbria.

I quite enjoy this macro lark, but ultimately it's a bit 'so what' - I mean it ain't like someone would ever buy this. Still, as I say, quite fun (if a bugger to get DOF and focus right - these are small bubbles)

When you say that no one would buy that sort of stuff have you thought about things like apples included screensavers? They are often unusual abstract images of nature.
If a picture looks as good as that there is always a use for it, therefore always a market for it.
Maybe just not in a frame and on the living room wall.

nice work, did you use a flash, or is that the sun reflecting in the 'trapped wind'?

I so neeeeed a macro lens... and a proper WA lens... and...

I don't think it is 'so what' really - it might be more fair to say that a sunset is more 'so what', I guess the only thing the extreeeeme close up lacks is some sort of context, as you say these are small bubbles but it's hard to see that.

but who am I to critique eh. very nice pic

Ta guys. No flash... sun. And that is another problem with macro, you can't tell how small things are. Next time I'll chuck a match in frame for reference

I guess windows / apple wallpaper - it works quite well.

Mrs Get just sent me this... she was D50ing whilst I was macro-ing. You can see why I got wet knees.

and... what tripod?

I found biking jeans very useful for kneeling down taking photos as they have nice padding on the knees
