The Post Office sold off?

I have just been into my main Post Office branch to find that it has been sold to a bunch of "Asians" many of whom can't speak English properly.
I had to tax my new car and the man I got lumbered with hadn't got clue how to do it. First he couldn't find any discs even though he had them in his hand. When I pointed them out to them he looked at my cheque for £85 and said "No these are yearly ones" After a lot of explaining by me and someone who seemed to be training the entire staff I got my disc.
So how long has the Post Office been in the habit of franchising main Offices, or has it always been this way and I hadn't noticed?

All of the post offices round here are owned by Asians. Guess the UK ran out of corner shops. Only kidding.

Just like everything else some are good some are dire.

friends dad owned a post office & sold it about 12 years ago & made a fortune, so think it's safe to assume they have been franchised for many years now

Yep, majority of them have been franchised a long time. Obviously the main ones aren't.

I don't see any relevance in their ethnicity either, I knew some stupid europeans who ran a post office, but I just called them f**kwits.

the reason i feel that you were being a little bit racist here is because you highlighted the word asian. you put emphasis on asian and most readers would think that you are drawing some conclusion about that fact. because the post is intended as a moan - it could easily be said you are moaning about "Asians".

if you had merely said "bunch of asians have taken over and they appear to be gettnig training on the job and i only want a tax disc blah blah blah" it wouldn't of come over as racist, but merely an observation.

THIS IS A MAIN POST OFFICE.
As for ethnicity, I give up, suffice to say all the original staff who were a very mixed bunch, sorry group, have gone and have been replaced by a similar group of people who happen to be f**kwits. FFS
