Road Angel going beserk

My Road Angel has decided to go into false alarm everytime I start press the loud peddle more than normal. i.e quick blats >5k rpm. It only started doing this after the RR conversion and fitting Magnecor leads. Anyone had this happen? I am thinking of buying the Road Angel 2 but don't wan't to waste my dosh if the same thing is going to happen again..

My Road Angel did this on the old S, RoadAngel supplied an external laser detector which didn't cure the problem but the supplier of the unit (Networx Automotive) sent me a magnetic shield for the power cable, which did the trick.

My RA2 has never had a problem in my Cerb.

Saying that it did once say I was doing 128mph when the car speedo reported 30mph. I was inclined to believe the car rather than the RA2.

Thinking of selling my RA2 and getting a Navigator.

Richard, I bought a Navigator last week. As an RA2 owner Blackspot will upgrade you to a Navigator for £299 and you send the RA2 back to them. If you have a 3 year sub on your RA2 (or pay for a 3 year one now) then you get to keep the RA2 unit as well, to give to a family member/friend, keep for another car or sell on eBay for £150-175, so the Navigator may only cost you £100 or so

Having said that, Ive had a signal lock problem with my Navigator for the past 24hrs but Blackspot are couriering me a new unit tomorrow

I paid for a two year sub about six months ago so have 18 months left. Hardly worth paying for the other 18 months methinks.

No link per se. I dont think they overly publicise the discount. I sent them a general enquiry email followed up by a phone call to confirm. Then purchsed over the phone to make sure I got my discount

Depends how good your bluffing is? You may get them to let you keep the old unit with only a 2 yr sub? Of course, you will be singing their praises (eg generating more sales for them) on PH and the hundreds of other car forums you post on

The road angel has the external laser detector that attaches by suction cup to the windscreen, wha was the magnetic shield? Just a 'wrap around the power cable (from ciggy lighter)' type thingy?

Ah yes, any idea what the material was? I reckon I could buy a length of shielding from RS. Thanks anyway.
