Independent Porsche.

I have seen an independent Porsche servicing garage behind Wembley stadium, does anyone have experience of them, I have not been there before?

Cheers C2look, I think it might be, I hasten to add that I'm not encouraging name/dropping name and shame on this forum.

I am purely interested to know how they compare with OPCs etc and how their stamp might be viewed in the Serv Hist when selling time comes.

I have only read good things about them on PH. Having an indie stamp in the book should cause you no worries if they are well respected. Some may say they prefer the work of an indie rather than an OPC and of course vice-versa! Another factor is also the age of the car. I get the feeling people with newer cars tend to have the OPC service their cars up to a certain age for re-sale reasons.

I have used them for 5 years. They seem to know their stuff (they race cars too!). The owner Steve is always very helpful, and enthusiastic. Unless I had a very new car, I'd never use an OPC- too expensive, I don't see it's worth the premium- most speacialists are ex-Porsche anyway.

So perhaps a 2 to 3 yr old 996 would be as well taken care of there as cars older than eg 6 yrs old?

A revival of this topic I know, but what is the consensus for taking a 2003 x50 since it is not an older Porsche to an Jaz in Wembey rather than an OPC?

Jaz s strength is their hands on experience , Steve listens to your problems and Steve not only instructs the guys what to do [ most of them dont need instruction !] but does it himself and helps if its an unusual fault. The experience covers evrything from 356 to 997 including running sveral race teams .............i have several cars that go through them'72-'96 and all my services are stamped in my Porsche service book.............They re also connected with 2 of the best Porsche paint shops in UK

If you intend to sell in next couple of years I think most potential buyers will like OPC stamps in book as most potential buyers of your car don't realise that Jaz, and many other independents, are as good, if not better, than most OPC.

from a re sale point of view a car of that age needs an OPC history
when they get older if its s erviced by an independant that everyones heard of and you have the invoices in a file
then no problem
