Drive by vid!

Had my stage 1 exhaust fitted 2 weeks ago and went on a great roadtrip to the Lakes last weekend. A couple of drive by vids with my mate in his Focus RS (also with decat pipe and sports exhaust). Might be useful for anyone thinking of exhaust upgrade, or simply for those who like nice exhaust noises!

Thanks for that - how did the two cars compare performance and handling wise in the conditions?

Didn't drive the Focus, but it was a little greasy so I was cautious to say the least. There's still lots of grip to be head from the Yokos despite the moisture, but you need to be very measured with your throttle inputs (especially on strange roads with big drops!)

is the stage 1 really that much different from standard

was it not worth the upgrade?
have heard people mention its still preety quiet

The stage 1 is a lot different from standard, it actually sounds like a sports car!

Standard is soooo quiet, I'm surprised they let them leave the factory like that...

Ive driven a demo exige with standard exhaust and mine with stage one.

Have read standard described as simply "a noise" and would agree with that.

Read somewhere else stage one described as how it should be as standard and totally agree with that. Its not that much louder but it does sound like a sports car rather than a toyota corolla. Personal opinion i guess but i think stage one looks the best of the 3 lotus options.

No experience of stage two.

It's definitely louder and deeper in bass. Having heard my car on these shots I'm amazed at how loud it is from the outside- I guess the engine noise is nearer to you in the cabin so the exhaust is less so. I'm well pleased with the results-won't have to change it for trackdays either as I understand is usually the case with stage 2. I agree- it should have left the factory like this and it does look fabulous.

I can confirm the stage 1 sounds the business compared to the normal, and I can also confirm that it was very greasy that weekend - the RS was inclined to scrabble a wee bit!
