When we talk about the second world war, we always talk about "the Nazi invasion of Poland, the Nazi's did this, the Nazi's did that. We very rarely say the Germans did it.
So should'nt we say "Labour" invaded Iraq and not the British?

I think people tend to say either/or Nazis/Germans really.

It will probably be more difficult to blame New Labia until they start insisting on British troops wearing natty little red armbands with a black symbol of crossed 'L's' on a white circle though...

But it would still have gone ahead under the tories, the tories have never cried shy of the issue at all, even with the benefit of hindsight. I would imagine the tories would have been even more closely allied to a Republican administration had they been in power.

actually most of the world tend to think of Bush as the invader of Iraq.

All the other countries involved are pretty much ignored except in their homelands.

Plus this Labour government is pretty far to the right - very close to the Tories of old, in fact.

Which side of the Tories, I would say far to the right of the Tories, just a tad left of Fascism, hmmm maybe even to the right of it.

No arguments there. Except to be fair they're not quite fascist, yet.

So it's agreed, Iraq was invaded by the Nazis
