Right.

` is the unshifted key.

¬ is the shifted key.

¦ is 'Alt Gr' and the key.

At least on my keyboard...!

Have you tried the Alt Gr key to the right of the space bar? Holding this down and pressing the key with three symbols on produces the third symbol i.e. the pipe character. (Different applications seem to show the pipe symbol with or without a gap in it, and the two pipe symbols you can get from those two keys are not equivalent.)

¦ get that with the alt gr key which is the characternext to the z key

¦ is character to left of 1(alt gr)
¬ is character to left of 1(shift)
` is character to left of 1

you should get these if not check your settings are english keyboard not american

Banana - have you made sure you don't have a US keyboard setup in windows rather than UK?

You can use the character map, maybe a different font, '|' next to 'z' for me too

Using a uk keyboard layout on a uk keyboard:

| is shift and the key to the left of z
¬ is shift and the key to the left of 1
` is the key to the left of 1
¦ is Alt Gr and the key to the left of 1

Now, on my keyboard ¦ and (backslash - must be an escape code or something cos it doesn't show up on here) are on the key to the left of z, and ¬, ` and | are on the key to the left of 1 - so | and ¦ have been silkscreened onto the keys incorrectly I think!
