Low profile trolley jack

Any idea where I can get a cheap one? I think it amazing that you can pick up a 'normal' one for less than £20 but the cheapest I've found for a low profile one is £150! They can't be that different surely?

Is it for the Noble? If so you don't need a low profile one. Halfords do a 2 ton one that fits underneath if you take the rose off, alternatively you could just put two pieces of wood in front of the wheels and drive on to them, then mosr jacks will fit.

I got the one for demon tweeks for about £80 on Pauls recommendation when the standard one stopped fitting post nitrons. However it weighs something stupid like 35-40kg so it useless for taking to the track etc.

With my old exhaust I used to use a blow up thing which fitted on the exhaust pipe and filled a bag with gas.

Then I'd put the track stands under the car and remove the bag.

I got it from halfords, it was abut 40 quid.

Have'nt used it in a while, as I've not had reason to get under the car !

I saw those but figured as soon as the bag started having to lift the car the exhaust gas would take the easy way out and come out of the other pipe?

I bought a low profile trolley jack from my local costco total cost £64 with vat,that was only last week.

I have the Halfords one - you need to remove the rose if you just lift the car ever so slightly.

Elise parts do the only genuinely low profile one I have found for anything like reasonable money. I think around £80. I beieve it wil drop to around 85-90mm. Ideal for a Noble or even my Elise racecar!

I have seen them for 100quid before all in, but not in the shops, more group buy etc.

I don't know how low it needs to go for your car but I bought a trolley jack from Argos which just fits under the Cerbera (13cm nominal ground clearance). I sometimes need a slight lift from a little scissor jack to get started if I'm not parked on even ground.

It wasn't this one but was very similar.

I really want the US General one that elise parts have. Heard good reports on it.

Wood is ok, but the bits need to be really long to be completely safe. I've heard horror stories of shorter bits being picked up and gouged into the wheel arches when you pull onto them.

It's fine for occasional use and goes low enough for my Elise with sports suspension (jacking points are about 110mm off the ground). I don't know how that ride height compares to an M12 though?

Same as, James. Bought for Elise with Sports suspension and works a treat for the Noble. Can even get a piece of wood between the cup and the underside to avoid scratching the undertray.
