Has anyone else seen some suspicious looking blocks nailed into the road surfaces?
Theyre black, and look like a pyramid with the tops cut off.
Approx 4 inches square.
I wondered if they were some sort of counter, as they appear to be fitted in both carriageways.
Usually ive seen them on A roads.
Mysteriously, no one i know has even noticed them, or seen anyone fitting/removing them.
Yet more covert surveillance maybe? Puzzling.

They’re a new type of traffic measurement device. I read an article about them a few months ago. I can’t remember what advantages they had over the normal tubes across the road, apart from being more robust.

They had two just outside my village a while back. Fing dangerous for bikers I would imagine, and not exactly a great to hit at speed in a car.
