Encountered a new weird kind of road rage last week. Me & the wife went for a drive to the lakes a week last Sun & decided to come back on the A roads through Chorley etc.
I was driving behind a Fiesta (not close behind)when suddenly the male passenger turns round & starts flicking 2 fingers at me & gesturing angrily? At first I thought he had me mixed up with someone else but then he got angrier & angrier & got his girlfriend to put on her Fog light. At this stage I realised that he thought I had my main beam on so I obliged & put it on ( I do have gas discharge upgrade) at this stage he covered his eyes & got even angrier & started waving his fist etc.
I did politely gesture to him to pull over if he wanted to discuss further but he just seemed intent on getting angrier all the time?

Does anyone else with gas discharge lights find people are flashing them thinking you have main beam on as this has also happened to me a couple of times?

I though the gas discharge was on main beam only is that correct?

Thanks
Howard.

Have standard lights (methinks?) and get flashed all the time. Gets a little frustrating sometimes, although this appears to be a common occurence. Getting mine reset in the next couple of weeks as fed up with being flashed constantly.

Was always getting flashed when in the Tuscan. Needed the lights re-setting every year at least. Sag no probs(yet!).
Me also thinks that most gas discharge headlights are a pain in the arse both being followed from behind and from on coming.

Have you checked their alignment?

Some people think that Tuscan owners are flashing their lights at them due to the bouncing of the front end of the car on the rather firm suspension. Not a lot you can do about that other than to make sure the beams are aligned correctly so not unduly high when front of car is taking off a bump in the road. TADS.

Get Nitron's fitted. Pretty well solves the problem

Nitrons Sorted out my problem too. Now the worst thing is 4x4 drivers up your backside in heavy traffic their lights blind me.

Yep, I get flashed, two fingered salutes etc. Thought it was just me but must be the lights. I'm going to use a mates garage to set them up before the car gets much use this springtime. I've put power blue bulbs in which have made the problem worse.

Got the same trouble in with the tuss 2. Gorners are, hopefully, sorting the problem this week.

Yep - an adjustable suspension set up, particularly aftermarket ones, could help. Got nitrons on mine, but hardly ever drive the Tuscan at night for that matter.

Also, there are just loads of people who drive around with their front fog lights on (often without headlights) as if they are trying to 'look cool' or something - and I am too busy flashing them, whatever I'm driving

Yes, bright lights are annoying. Useful on a rally stage (or an empty country lane), completely moronic on urban roads. I like to see the road, thanks, not a wall of intense light.

I recall one PH Tuscan owner was forced off the road by a driver who thought he was flashing her for ages!

It's not just the Tuscan I experience this with, as I do not often drive here with full beam on, I get cars that flash just because they haven't seen my lights change.

Best regards,
