After a couple of thousand sheets my Canon i250 bought for about £32 a couple of years has given up. Its printing, but the ink isnt really getting through - possibly the heads are blocked.

Two new cartridges at the weekend - same result.

Is there any last ditch attempt, eg a solvent i can use to clear out the cartridge carrier that has the heads on it?

However you can replace the print head assembly but I don't think you'll want to at the price.

At £32 you've had your moneys worth, buy another.

You can try running the heads under warm water, & checking the connections?

The prices they charge for ink cartridges these days, almost worth buying a new printer anyway. Basic printer that is.

At the Granny sucking eggs level - my printer software has a "Clean print nozzle" utility, maybe yours has something similar?

Warm water did the trick on more than a couple of occasions in my old job.

it has two of them, clean nozzle and then a desperate clean nozzle. tried both repeatedly.

Printer died this morning. RIP Little Canon. You were a faithful trusty printing partner and you will be missed by myself, my desktop machine, the toshiba laptop, and your brother the big HP colour laser.
