Well after weeks of debating reading this forum and drooling over the clips on pistonheads tv i finally decided it gotta be a cerbera v8, so hope to soon have a smile as wide as your lots. just one quick question though,
im going to get the car through james agger as i have heard nothing but praise for him and hes close, anyone here buy theres from james and how was it?

I almost bought a yellow Chim off him, but he wasn't up for a bit of Brummie haggling , just aswell though, as the buyer in Watford wrote it off.

Plus I'd never have got into Cerbhood

Nice bloke though, not pushy & after two & a half years on here, I've only ever heard good things about him.

Why not save some ££££'s and get one privately, just make sure you get it checked out by someone who knows their way round a Cerb. Like Rob Ingleby, haven't used him myself but many on here recommend his services, he may even know someone selling a car in your price bracket.

Thought long and had about buying private nut scared id end up with a lemon and no comeback. its still a possibilty though got about £20,000 to spend so will see what i can get and where from when money finally comes through.

try mailing Trackcar - hes not far from you and he might be able to recommend a clients car that is for sale. That way you know it is a sorted car and save some cash. BUT Mr Agger is highly commended.

Agree talking to your local indie can be the best route to a sorted car and Joolz is one of the most respected. The phrase I like to hear from the servicing agent best is 'he's a good owner', which to me means there has been no quibbling over work, with all work that needs doing getting done at service time and not delayed until another day or to be done when they get home by their 'mate in the trade'.

I'd recommend giving the private route a go - not that i have anything but the most respect for places like JA, but simply because i bought privately, and in the grand scheme of things i have never looked back. I think it's a risk wherever you buy from really

Good decision to buy one!!

I bought mine privately and did end up spending a few quid getting it sorted, but I know I saved more when I bought it.

I searched high and low, monitored prices etc... before buying so I'd done my homework.

Looking back, I'd speak to the independants that we all know from on here (preferably one that will look after the car for you when you've got one) and see if they know of a car that's for sale. I'd definitely get someone to check the car for you - I used Rob Ingleby and he was very good.

And when you get your car, please take it easy at this time of the year - we're all struggling with grip in ours!!

Well the noey wont be here for a few weeks yet so hopefully the weather will have picked up a bit and no worries will be overtaken bu milk floats till im used to it...

Funny that. I was at an Indy in Surrey (that should narrow it down ) not so long ago and although they were thoroughly nice chaps indeed, when the guy said "we respectfully ask people not to negotiate the asking price", I was a bit miffed. Is this heard of in Indy TVR dealers?

I don't mean to sound mean, but I have NEVER payed the full asking price for any car, and I'm not about to start now.
