Hoping to get a boxster but intrested in deffered (balloon) final payment deals. Used to be quite a few high street banks doing these but not any more. Can only find M&S. Anyone advise of any? Cheers

The AA do one, I believe. Alternatively you could go for a Personal Contract Plan (PCP), but that ties you in to a fixed term.

Nah the AA don't do them. Is PCP is only on new cars though?

Alliance and Leciester did one, car purchase plan they called it. not sure if they still do now.

But loan rates are pretty good these days - 5.6% APR from Cahoot, 5.8% from Post Office

Did you test drive 2.7 and 3.2 - which one you going for?

My mistake, I thought the AA did. PCP's usually on new cars, but not necessarily. It's only a loan, after all.

I dealt with Eurovehicle in Cardiff for my BMW, http://eurovehicle.co.uk/, a chap called Darren. Very nice guys.

Thanks for replies. No the one I looked at yesterday was sold, only been advertised for a day! Going to decide what I can get for budget hence finance question then be in a postion to decide on spec / motor etc. Bought the Lotus when just passing dealers so want to sort funds first this time, otherwise after the test drive I will be signing paperwork no doubt!! And if I can sort finance without going through dealer may have option to haggle a bit..

I would have thought the opposite was true: dealers love finance these days as they get plenty of comm from it.

Lombard do it and at far lower rates than Porsche so useful for bargaining, they also allow the early part-redemption without penalty

Home loan is often the cheapest way of all. Better still if you have a buy to let upon which the money can be taken for "repairs etc" - that way you'd get a tax deduction for the interest on the loan.

Cheers

Hey, just because a chap may take an extra loan on a let property to do it up - and also happens to buy a car - doesnt mean it dodge...

You'd be OK, as long as the Revenue didn't come sniffing. If they did then they might start wanting to see receipts and stuff. You could always argue that parking a Porker out front was a valid improvement

Ha ha.. I work for the Revenue or HMRC as we are called now!! But I don't sniff!
Well I have made some enquiries with dealers about finance just waiting for a couple to get back to me..

Seen a 2002 3.2s, Its on £28000, which I though was bit pricey.
And a 2001 3.2s, slightly more miles @38,000. is on at £21000.

Hopefully taking one for a blast tomorrow..

Don't sniff what?..

The pricey one sounds way pricey.

Make sure you get a warranty - RMS etc etc - pref an OPC one.

Ajit.

Sorry for ignorance what's the RMS issue? and if bought from non OPC can you still buy a warranty seperately?

Yes you can.

You need to submitt the car for a service and/or an inspection. For a Boxster the warranty is £725 I believe...well worth it for piece of mind.

As for finance there are so many options but it really comes down to your budget, mileage you will cover and how long you think you will own the car for.
