Non-camping accommodation (older chap needs help!)
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking for some help please. I have trawled the last few pages and have seen the "gay" comments about those who don't camp (surely the wrong way 'round?!). Anyhow, I'd like to take my Dad down but he's nearing 70 and doesn't want to camp. I've camped for the last couple of years and so have no idea about any alternatives. I also appreciate it's late in the day.
Is there anyone or a web resource I can look at which will give me some genuine options please?
Thanks in advance.

i really, really, dont know where you will be able to stay close to the circuit without camping. the hotels are booked years in advance, and if you want to stay in hotel its usually a good 1-2 hours away from LM.
For my first time going to LM we stayed in a hotel, which we had booked ages ago, and we didnt spend all that long at the track, dispite it being 1 hour to get there.
Maybe somebody else will have some ideas, unfortunately I am very much out of them, sorry mate

First went to Le Mans in 2000, my brother has a medical condition which means that camping on site is not very good but as we had left it late we did not expect to get anything.
Called in at a Formule 1 hotel on the outskirts of Le Mans and they had just had a cancellation. The next time we went we booked this same hotel via their website about this time of year and got in.
Otherwise you could pick a campsite on the outskirts of Le Mans, we are staying at Chateau de Chanteloupe which has a good atmosphere and good facilities, plus they have some rooms in the chateau that they rent out, not sure if any of these will be free, probably not
