Glad to hear it's doing well. I'd certainly like to give one of these beasties a whirl....although I do think they need to bring the UK prices down a bit. That'd really kick start sales, I'm sure.

Really like that GTO concept too. Very OTT and in-yer-face. Top stuff.

Vauxhall have been making noises about importing the Monaro at around the £30k mark, which should make it a little more attractive.

I want one...

30K pounds? Surely it can't cost 10K pounds to get the thing from here to there...

It sells her for around 22K pounds! (60+K Australian Dollars)

But personally, I'd prefer the new XR6T. Rides better, goes as fast with about 320hp, 4 doors, better interior and just more room all for 44K Australian. About 15K Pounds. Monaro's lighter though by about 80 kilos.

Still, the Monaro does indeed look the biz. And there's strong indications they're going to do a limited run of the 427C version from the sydney show. That's basically a 427 cube version with wider wheels, better suspension, better gearbox, better brakes, stripped interior. The spin on that car is supposedly to take aim at things like the GT2 Porsche for about 220K Australian.
Don't think they'll go THAT quick but they might go close when you see what they stick in it.

The touted spec for £30k was similar to the HSV GTS coupe, uprated brakes, bodykit, exhaust, etc...which would make it pretty good value, they were making noises about possibly using an LS6 in 415bhp trim instead of the big LS1, but I'm not sure if we will see it happen.

Yes but, this is rip off Britain we are talking about.
We pay for the privelidge of being British.
We are stupid enough to pay it so they charge it!

You think you brits get ripped off. Look at the prices of Brit cars here (NZ). A base model Elise is getting close to the equivalent of 30K pound, and dont even mention a TVR.

Unless we can get it used from japan like MGF etc its very expensive here.

We do get lots of holdens here though...Pity theyre so overweight and inefficient. 4 door TVR's theyre not
