Its about time to get my Chim 430 sorted for the spring, I think I need to replace the speedo sensor as it only works when hot. Can any body advise where I can purchase a replacement and how I get to it, I believe it is on top of the gear box, I have removed the centre bolster etc. do I next remove the plate around the gear lever gaitor ?
Also I have recently replaced the HT lead with silicone from ACT, inc coil & dizy cap. Now the rev counter jumps any ideas.

Thanks for you advise.

Speedo sensor is mounted next to a cogged wheel at the diff end of one of the driveshafts.

Did you fit the proper suppressor caps to the plug leads (as originally fitted)? If you did, try replacing the king lead between the coil and distributor cap. The rev counter signal cable is most likely picking up interference from one or other of your new ignition parts.

Depends if you've got the Rover box or the T5 box.

The Rover one is near the gearbox, the T5 ones are on the rear driveshaft.

As you have a 4.3 I would hazard a guess that you have a rover gear box, the speedo sensor is on the side of the box. It could just need adjusting, If it works when its hot then this would be the way to go first.
