Well I finally took the plunge and had the Di Fillipo 4-1 headers fitted along with the 85mm Maf sensor at Picadors. First impressions: wow, oh my god, Jesus, the tyres are spinning at 100mph!! It is like a totally new car, it just pulls so much harder everywhere, I'm struggling to explain the difference, it was quick before but now it is positively brutal. I can't wait for the dyno results on saturday at powerstation (still open to anybody wanting to come along), should be very interesting!

And the sound! I'll let the video do most of the talking but it really doesn't do it justice, it is at least twice as loud as before and it just screams! I absolutely bloody love it! Many thanks to Paul who spent the best part of 5 hours trying to tune the damn thing and also to Picadors for doing such a top notch job. To anyone thinking about headers: beg, borrow or steal the money to get at the things, by far and away the best mod I've done and I can also highly reccomend the 85mm Maf sensor (both available from Wortec) - it just adds to the riot! I am now however in desperate need of some brakes, any VXR owners who have upgraded and have their old ones available, let me know, I would be happy to take them off your hands at a reasonable price!

Enjoy!

Sounds damn good......

I think the difilipo headers offer a different sound to the pacemakers and better IMHO!

Tyres spinning at 100mph yikes! Now is that sideways action or tsraight forward action

I reckon you must have some serious HP/Torque going on

I will start the book at 425 - 430 BHP lets see......

You really should do soemthing with those brakes but I know you know that - be careful

Wow, that is awesome!! Gorgeous sound.

Hope you don't mind, I've downloaded it to cd to show my collegues at work just how good these things are.

I'm now wondering what the difference is between your headers and the Wortec ones both cost and performance wise.

Time to try out my new credit card...

That's one angry sounding muvva! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
I have the pace maker 4-1's on my Callaway engined HSV (MAF less) & it don't sound anywhere near that good! (mind you, I've never heard my car from behind as nobody else has ever driven it!)

Booster that is one fantastic sounding car,the video does not do it justice on tick over, but the part where you take off out of the laybye, and gun it is so sweeeeeet. Having heard GSE's exhaust which is so burbletastic!!! I know what the real life sound is,looking forward to hear what your rolling road numbers are.

PS Good to see that the car is back looking better after its bad road day at V.W.

PPS Wortec how long before LS2 headers?

That's one heck of an angry animal you've got there. Congratulations to both you and Wortec on a fantastic achievement. I've also got the Di-Fillipo's on mine and they do seem to give a deeper tone to the exhaust. Did you have new cats put in as well? Just asking coz the Di-Fillipo's are 3" and IIRC you've got a 2.5" cat back system. On mine they used cats with 3" on the intake and 2.5" on the exit.

Enjoy the symphony and I can't wait to hear it in the metal. Sadly I can't make the Dyno Day but I wish you all the best.

Normally you'd measure the loudness of the cars in Db's but perhaps we should be measuring our cars in Miles/Kilometers

Wow thanks for all the nice replies everyone. Comm ss, my car is running without cats so all the more noise . Pomona, it was very cold, possibly slightly moist but as Paul himself said: 'I have no problems spinning the tyres in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.' It span at 100 as I changed into 4th; quite scary! You can't just stonk the throttle anymore, you've got to be far more progressive otherwise it just spins. As I said before, anyone thinking about headers, it simply has to be done, just awesome.

BTW Gsi, I would strongly advise against it!

Just tried downloading the video and it says file not found. Are you having a bit of housecleaning or have Deamon deleted it ??

Thanks

I love my DiFilippo's too. I think they transform these cars.

Nice video clip - your car sounds awesome.

What is the difference between the Wortec & Di Fillipo 4-1 headers? Which gives the better performance and how do they compare cost wise? I've never heard of Di Fillipo before only the Wortec system.
