Guys, I've got an '05 530d M Sport with the comms pack fitted but cannot get a connection for the wife's iPod, BMW inform me there's no fix available until later this year, any ideas?

The aux-in socket works just fine if she's able to press the iPod buttons for control :-)

Yeah, Dension only support the E39 properly so far, still waiting on the E60/E61. Where did you hear the end of year estimate from - Dension? I'm getting an AUX in until then.

Thanks guys, I've looked everywhere for a neat solution and it cant be done. The car doesnt have an aux socket and I dont fancy an ICE link connection. I spoke to BMW technical services and they advised that the official fix was on it's way but not till later this year. Looks like I'll have to wait.
Cheers
Steve

Surely your dealer can fit the aux socket until then? That's what they're doing to mine.

What about using one of those FM transmitter gizmos fitted to the i-Pod, with the radio tuned in accordingly? Not sure of the sound quality however.

The E60 5 series can have an aux input capability switched on by your dealer (probably charge £50 or so) and you can then use a Dension ICE>Link lite which is a cradle that charges the iPod and gives a line level ouput which feeds into the aux input.

Total cost should be under £250 fitted inc suitable cables and brackets etc.

Cheers

I'd find a new dealer.

Crap around London since the radio spectrum is packed.
