mmc discs help needed

i have just purchased a set of mmc disc for my S1
they are in excellent condition regarding wear and are free of any grooves etc but they seam to very very pitted ?
is this a bad thing or are they like that being an alloy ?
the pitting is worse on the inboard side of the discs ??
any help appreciated
