1st pics of the moon with D70 and ETX125PE. Not great but 1st time out. Better ones to come. Just cropped a bit in PSCS2

Is that a 100% crop, or a resized down one?

Reason I ask is that I expected much much larger pics than this. I reckon I could take a pic with my 300mm and get a crop that size.

Which when I think about it means you must have resized down no?

If so how much detail is in a 100% crop?

Heres mine

Yours has more contrast and better definition. Is it a 100% crop?

Its a resized one down from 3008 x 2000 pixels to 700 x 620. This is the full size one, although photbucket may well have altered the size.

Great detail 406! Great contrast too. I doubt there are many lenses that excel as yours does in its correct environment!

When do we gat to see Andromeda or the Horseshoe nebula in Orion?

I'm sure you're right Greg... but there is hope for us all.. This taken with the lens you have (70-300 ED)

Nice pic Steve. I hope to perfect my moon pics and get some Deep Sky Images as soon as I can figure out how to use the LPI correctly

Right, I am off outside then!!

Have taken some moon shots like that before, but did not get the same level of detail that Dave is getting.

Nice work.
