Poor Performance
Discussion
You may want to get it checked on a rolling road .. I have a tuscan in at the moment making only 320bhp on an upgraded chip .. it made 305 on the std chip
the fuelling is bang on ruler straight too and not overly rich (lambda 0.9 near enuogh all the way through, it's been mapped very well). It's just a low hp engine. Could be that the combination of parts in yours just makes it not very good aswell..?

The Sagaris is consistenly quick in testing (0-100 in 8.5 fastest 0-100 in 9.1 slowest) and I don't see how they can cheat that much with a normally aspirated car.
And no, I'm not remotely disappointed with the performance of mine.

sadly about 260 at the wheels ...
the Sag should be a very quick car, so it does point to there being something wrong with that particular motor .. only testing against another Sag would tell you or get it on a rollers where there's a big database of SP6 cars. Surrey Rolling Road would be an ideal place to test it out.

...or should that be 'Gri???

I am finding the Sagaris very dissapointing in the power stakes, especially on acceleration its just so slow. The Tuscan S is so much quicker. Has anybody else found the Sagaris slow?
We had the same thought with our demo last year. It wasn't that it felt slow, it was just never as quick as our Tuscan 2 S, which in theory it is mechanically identical to.... The orange press car, however, felt more like the Tuscan. All three running the close ratio box

I'm going
- so will let everyone know. I find it very very quick vs my Tamora (which was bloody fast as well).. never driven a Tuscan S.. so cannot comment. trackcar said:

OOOh does that mean you have your new rollers now??
Diff ratio? The Sagaris was, as I recall, meant to have the same drive-line as the Tuscan S (except that the Tuscan had CR as standard). There was a rumour of a last minute switch of diff ratio due to availability. If the car has a close ratio 'box and a longer diff it would certainly feel slower. Perhaps you can ask the factory what diff the car should have...

yep. expect firewaorks any time now

i had hsot in sagaris last week and ive driven a tuscan s also and i said s was far quicker and livlier from low revs however i was advised that the saggy is the same engine etc and just the chassis can cope with the power better !!
but i def felt tuscan s was a liftier car for sure to 100 as this is what impressed me with s model how quick it was

I followed Gatwick tvr's demo sagaris in my t350 and I can assure you I wasn't sparing the horses, and had no interest in giving the Sagaris an easy time. This was followed with back to back t350 and Sagaris drives on the same day. The sagaris is definitely quicker.
As mentioned before there is a bit more power everywhere with the 4S, it's not a big extra dollop up top and the engine gets motoring at 4k rather than 5k in the 3.6. To be fair it needs to get going quicker because it doesn't rev quite as much (8000 vs 8200) but it adds up to a wider powerband with a bit more power at each stage. The more focused delivery of the 3.6 (powerband is 5 to 8k) does make it feel sharp as does the more edgy chassis set up, besides which a T350 is a genuinely mega quick car and it takes quite some car and driver to pull away from one. But on the road and against the clock the Sagaris is quicker. And yes unlike the monstrous tuscan S I drove (my first tvr so it was an eye opener to say the least) the sagaris chassis is so well set up it does feel like it could handle more power. I dare say it could. Deceptively fast? Heaven forbid, in a TVR?
I can assure you that it is relative. Stick someone who's not au fait with TVR in a Sagaris and he'll have white hair when he gets out. Like all the crazy comments about the Sagaris being too civilised and composed for a TVR (someone here went on about understeer?! and slow steering!!?). Compared to other cars it really isn't so. Just like in Greystoke, the Saggy's still very much the wildman, don't be fooled by the table manners.
