What happens if I can't work out where little-screw-six-thousand-and-four goes? Or I'm missing widget 57b-left-hand-side?

The same as would probably happen if they were based 25 miles away - you get on the phone and ask!

Haven't dealt with LMP, but when I lived in Cumbria I built 2 kit cars from companies near the south coast so do have some experience of long distance support.

If you're a competent home mechanic you can probably sort most things out from the build manual or personal knowledge, with just a few phone calls for baffling or missing bits.

I built my kit car with zero build manual and, after a while, just working stuff out myself.

It really was no big deal providing you think things out carefully.

Cheers guys that's made me feel better about it.

I realised I should have just tacked it to the end of my other thread here: http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic. so I did, but couldn't delete the whole thread. You must have got in quick Graham!

I hope to see them at one of the up coming shows so I can have a serious look at the car and work out some realistic costs for a build. Along with the r1ot, Westi XI, and the 5exi. I've decided against the GTM - I want something a bit more raw than that if I'm going to build it all myself.
