Hi, i just found this forum on the internet and i find it very usefull. sorry for my bad english, i'm french and i am living in london for the next 8 months (job). i own a 2001 3200 gt with less then 50.000 miles, just bought it last month. i have two problems:
1. the air flow is always on the windshield, no matter if i turn the knob to different position. for example, if i want the airflow on the feet it does blow on the feet but it blows on the windshield also. is this normal??
2. when hot the engine is reving from 1000-1100 rpm. when cold the revs are stable. the mechanic said that this is normal. is it???

Thank you for your answers,
With kind regards,
Markus U.

To reset the throttle maximum and minimum try:-

1) Reset the mechanical zero position
- Put gear lever in neutral
- Switch on ignition (to MAR position) but do NOT start the engine
- Do not touch the throttle pedal for 2 minutes
- Switch off ignition

2) Reset the mechanical Full Throttle position
- Put gear lever in neutral
- Switch on ignition (to MAR position) but do NOT start the engine
- Fully depress throttle pedal and hold for 5 seconds
- Release throttle pedal completely
- Switch off ignition

Mine ticks over at 800rpm when warm and 1000rpm when cold. The above might save you a trip to the dealers. This problem is quite common on these cars. A few simple resets can save a lot of money at the dealers.

Re the air flow from the interior vents, all I can say is that mine doesn't do that so either mine or yours is not normal!

My suggestion is to take the car to a dealer or specialist, the Maserati tester can access the heater and will probably tell what is wrong.

Well, I don't know the ins and outs of the 3200GT engine (yet!) but bear in mind that a car engine will often have more tasks to perform than simply moving you forward (or backward). You will find in many cars that it will power an aircon compressor, fan, etc. So an engine that appears to 'hunt' at different times isn't always a problem ...

You could be describing my car, when I start it the revs are stable, then after a few mins as it warms up it starts to hunt up and down just over 1000 rpm. As for the airflow, mine always seems to have a component on the face regardless of which setting I set the dial too, so maybe its normal?!
