Well, thanks for all the advice you lot gave me a week or so back. I put the Cerbera up on eBay, and sold her within a week. Went for a bit less than I had hoped, but it was a 'no reserve' auction, so I can't complain.
And now? Well, the money was burning a hole in my pocket (for all of 24 hours), and mindful of all the advice from the forum, I shot off to Atlantic Sports Cars, where Kenski's Z06 has been residing for a short while, along with a brace of Vipers, a few Mustangs and a handful of C5's. Had a look at the Mustang, and although I think it's a storming looking car, it just didn't do it for me in the metal. The C5's though......nice red coupe with a Borla system that sounded
, but I figured that if I didn't go for the Z06 I'd forever be kicking myself, so, a quick test drive later and I'm now the owner of Kenski's ex-motor (well, once the cheque's cleared!) and all credit to him; the cars obviously been well looked after, so I'll promise to keep her in the style etc etc.....
Collect next week, so until then, where's that exhaust catalogue?

No, all silver. I'd post a pic, but I'm pretty clueless. It's on here.....

You won't regret it! I would drive the car with the stock exhaust at least for a couple of weeks and see what you think of the noise. Although the Z06 is relatively quiet at idle, it has a fantastic noise at about 3500 rpm upwards especially in 2nd, 3rd and 4th....although if you are doing 3500 and up in 4th then you are going to kiss your license goodbye very quickly
If you do decide to go for a better exhaust there are a number of options.
for example www.lgmotorsport.com do long tube headers with or without cats, then you will need a set of rear boxes and my personal favourites are the B&B ones as they don't have any boxes!
You will need either a set of very high ramps or access to a lift to get the back of the car high enough to let you get the stock rear boxes over the rear axle.
I would also suggest fitting a less restrictive air box to the car for example a Blackwing gives a much better pickup and also nicer sound.
Just these 2 mods will liberate about 50 more horsepower........

I think Ken's car is a 2002 is that correct?

Being the (almost) ex-owner I can certainly vouch that she's a lovely car. It was a real wrench making the decision to sell. We were 'supposed' to be selling her at the start of summer last year but couldn't bring ourselves to do it. We kept thinking that we'd do a tour of the South of France first. In the end we just never had the time because of work etc.
Still, I've been told not to be too sad as I can get another if we ever move somewhere where it's worth having a beastie like her.
In other news, my work colleagues think they're being funny, offering to sell me 1980 950cc Ford Fiestas if I need a run-around... grrr...
