I havent been around much in the last couple of weeks. Life has kept me far too busy. It is time for a few sincere "thankyous"

Shangani invited me to LoT day at silverstone as a co-driver last week. An invitation I eagerly and gratefully accepted. I am a track day virgin, so this chance to pop my cherry was too good to miss.
The alarm went off at an un-godly 4.30 am so I could get to Shangani's at 6.20. I slept through the alarm and woke up at nearly 5am Wiped the sleep from my eyes and drove like a man posessed and made it on time!

We got to Silverstone and found a pit lane garage and met hbaumhardt, Nickos (the bubble!) and speedyellow amongst many others.

So many people were willing and eager to take me for rides during the day and there wasnt much time that I wasnt in a car being driven around the track. The driving was incredible, the skill levels of these guys was just jaw dropping.

Nickos took me for the first laps. What a driver. The most incredible technique. He doesnt so much drive a track, more find bends to throw an elise at. Just so much fun!

Speedyellow - anyone who says a 240r is not worth the money hasnt been for a few laps with you. Thanks! It is nice to actually witness driving at its finest.

hbaumhardt - Finese on a track. I was expecting a "germanic" guy, just a sill expectation from your name. I was not ready for a cross between an english gent and hanibal smith.

Shangani - It was so much fun being on a track with you! Next time you graduate from raisins to marbles!

I had a wonderful day, I refused the drivers seat more than once, thanks for the offers guys but I could not be responsible for your pride and joys.

Thanks guys - top day!

Great to have you along for the day. I did feel that we were in the presence of driving greatness.

My epiphany will shortly be along. We shall need to do it again soon methinks.

The Lotus on Track guys were brilliant. The day was really well organised and the people were just really friendly and approachable. It was a real spirit of fun.

There was some incredible road weapons, duratec S1, Hooooooonda S1, 240r etc etc. The most incredible thing on the track was the size of the balls! These guys were fearless!

BoLOC's We have a "dark horse" in the club. Speedyellow is a superb driver and as the day went on, he would give hints of "used to race those" and then he beat aN RS and a fezza CS....

Once thanks Shangani, and thanks to hbumhardt for taking me under his wing!

Gooby, it was great to have you there and look forward to getting you out on track in your P&J, a session at Bedford is called for ! If you cant make LoT on 14th April, pick a www.motorsportvision.co.uk date.

Just checking, Hannibal Smith, Hannibal Lector = is there a difference ?

I'm going to miss S/Stone as I'm in Vegas (jaded and would actually rather do a weeks work in the UK and drive S/Stone again) but speedyellow is on the list so get ready for 240R action

Hi Jake - yeah it would be good but work is getting in the way at the moment - it would be good to meet up with you and Stuart again and eventually the rest of the BOLOC's crew - I am going to the Lotus show at Donnington next month - might try and join one of the convoys - do you fancy it?

I got (and gave) a passenger ride to Kurt.
He is a very good, smooth driver.
The 240R was impressive, with loads of torque and power.
Nothing like a normal Exige.
All Exiges should get a supercharger, they deserve it.

Here is a pic from the day

Off to Cadwell Park this Sunday with Lotus-On-Track for some more

Excellent - I have my first track day next week, Friday at Brands Indy with EVOactive. All being well I'm going to get some days booked up for Spring and Summer.

El Beast is off to Plans on Saturday for a geo, oil change (maybe an A service), to have the ITG fitted (if it arrives) and to get a racing split pin arrangement for the bonnet fixing.

Bonus came in this week, next month it's probably going to get harnesses, harness bar and some new boots.

COME ON SPRING!!!!
